Meeting called to order by President Barbara Dunsmoor at 11 AM.
In attendance:
Barbara Dunsmoor, Jan Carter, Marilyn Limbaugh, Kalynn Oleson, Gail Spencer, Karen Shanower, Carol Tackett, Elaine Reed, Marta Emmons, Anna Hines.
Agenda Items:
1. An Orientation Brochure/ Welcome Packet for new members will be updated by Gail Spencer from material given to Barbara Dunsmoor by Marilyn Limbaugh.
2.A Òquilting buddyÓ list will be compiled from members who volunteer to be buddies to new members as they join. Gail Spencer, Carol Takett, and Clare McPherson (if she agrees) compose the committee.
3. Ways and Means Committee suggested that membership dues be prorated for the second half of the year.
January- July $40.00 August 25.00 September 20.00 October 15.00 November 10.00 December 5.00
4. Affiliated Members: Nonresident (out of town, not local) membership fee will be $25.00 per year. Nonresident members are entitled to newsletters and 2 meetings a year without paying the guest fee of $5.00 per meeting.
Other Business:
1. PPQG has been asked to send a representative to the GAC fund raising committee, which meets the second Wednesday of the month at 1:30 PM. PPQG vice president (Jan Carter) is the representative and PPQG president (Barbara Dunsmoor) is the alternate.
2. A quilting retreat will be planned for 2009 in February unless a workshop has already been planned. A retreat will be held every other year (odd years).
3. A quilt safari (fabric buying trip to quilt shops) for PPQG members was suggested since one hasnÕt been held for several years.
