SUPPLY LIST

 

Drawing pad of 14 inch by 16 inch or larger. Student grade or recycled paper is fine, newsprint is not a good choice.

Quilter's 12-1/2 inch square ruler -- an absolute must.

Quilter's 3 inch by 18 inch ruler -- or similar narrow, long ruler with a firm, straight, edge.

Mechanical pencil with replacement leads -- or several 2.5 B pencils and a pencil sharpener.

Eraser that cleanly erases the pencil lead. Test it! Only people who don't take risks don't make mistakes.

Scissors for cutting paper.

 

Optional:

Compass if you wish to try curves or circles.

Quilter's 6-1/2 inch square ruler if you have it.

Hinged mirrors if you have them.

Quick & Easy Block Tool, published by www.ctpub.com $16.95; available from Connecting Threads, Keepsake. If you like doing patterns based on blocks, this tool will provide you with more than 200 samples.

 

Plus:

Bring examples of blocks you would like to draft (photos, books, sketches, etc.).

Problem projects -- if you have a specific project requiring odd-sized blocks. or other drafting problems, bring them along.
