COLOR
ME GREEN Color
/ Value Blending In Green |
| Our
day begins with an important study of color
terminology and fabric comparison....mainly in green. We will broaden our definition of green, to include all types of greens: blue greens, yellow greens, light greens, dark greens, muted greens, truer greens, and green prints of different scales. Also bring some multicolored-with-green fabrics, too. |
| After
our color study work, we embark on our patchwork of the
day, the Snail's Trail. However there will exist a challenge or two; watercolor ( or colorwash) blending, and value gradation. The result will be a stunning green quilt which exhibits a secondary design. The sample I have sent to your guild uses 7" blocks. These have proven to be a bit small, so we will make nine 8" blocks. |
